Exclusive, high-quality self-catering accommodation in the Penistone area
Bullace Barn in Millhouse Green, South Yorkshire, is a traditional, stone-built, farm building lovingly redeveloped in sympathy with its beautiful surroundings. The interior retains many original features including spectacular and spacious open-beamed, light-filled, communal rooms.
Located in the rolling countryside at the edge of the Peak District and the foot of the Pennines, we’re within easy reach of some of England’s most beautiful scenery and historic sites: the Peak District National Park with its secret caves and natural springs; countless footpaths weaving in and out of fields and villages; you can even cycle the routes of the recent Tour de France and Tour de Yorkshire road races; and of course York and it’s unparalled heritage is a short drive away.
We’re also close to most major attractions and cities in Yorkshire and neighbouring Lancashire and Derbyshire.
So please take time to look through our site and see what we have to offer. As as small, family-run business you’re assured a warm welcome and we’re convinced that, like many of our guests, you’ll be back for more.
Up to 2 well-behaved dogs welcome. They (and you!) will enjoy a variety of walks including the Trans Pennine Trail and nearby Langsett Woods and reservoir.
One of the largest single holiday lets in the Penistone area
There are plenty of self-catering holiday single lets in the South Yorkshire region but few of this size – and available at such a reasonable cost. Have a look at our virtual tour and we’re sure you’ll be convinced.
Children are welcome at Bullace Barn. A cot is available along with a high chair – and of course, stairgates are also fitted.
Things to See and Do
Not only are we located in the beautiful East Peak but we are within easy reach many major cities and towns in Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Lancashire: Sheffield, Leeds and York are all between 20 and 40 minutes’ drive away. Don’t want to cook? There’s a wide variety of places to eat out in the area. Pubs, restaurants, cafés and takeaways are plentiful and more cosmopolitan fare is available in the major cities and even nearby Holmfirth. We’ve collected a few of our favourite places to eat in this section.
